Shall we or shall we not? That was the question in 1994 when it was realised that Gosbeck would be without a village hall unless a new one could be built. A village needs a place where laughter can be heard and memories can be made. A village without such values is one without a friendly face, and with this spurring them on a team of dedicated people set about agreeing a lease with the landlord submitting plans and chasing grants to give this beautiful village a special place to come together to celebrate those special moments. It was agreed that the hall would serve surrounding villages too and a bright future was born.
Fast forward to 2015 and once again the hall was in danger. This time it was not the building that was crumbling, although it definitely needed a lick of paint and some tlc. No, this time it was 'people' who were missing and a small team, many from outside the village, were struggling to keep things going and decided to call an emergency meeting to gather support. In March 2016 a new committee formed. Fresh enthusiasm, energy, creative ideas and much determination have seen the start of an exciting programme of refurbishment.
